The unique feature about «Magic Ice of Siberia» is the fact that the festival-competition has only two categories: «Snow»and «Ice», so that the focus is not blurred and the judgement is more precise.

According to the terms of the competition, artists are not limited in choosing the theme and artistic image of their works. Over the years, craftsmen from the USA, China, Latvia, Japan, as well as from Russian cities, such as Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kyzyl, Magadan, Barnaul, Perm, Prokopyevsk, Shelekhov, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and others came to Krasnoyarsk. This year, in addition to Russian participants, masters including from Belarus, Lithuania and China are visiting the regional centre to fight for the prizes.

For four full days, Krasnoyarsk citizens will have the opportunity to observe the work of sculptors who will be transforming the upper tier of the embankment into a snow-ice gallery. According to the organisation team, this year the weather is especially favourable for the festival. At the grand opening of the event, leading music and dance bands of the regional centre will present their performances to Krasnoyarsk residents as well.

«Magic Ice of Siberia» has been held in Krasnoyarsk since 2013. The first festival competition was dedicated to the 165th anniversary V.I. Surikov’s birth, as well as the 385th anniversary of the founding of Krasnoyarsk.
