From January 13 to 19 of 2020 the VIII Open Festival-Competition of Snow and Ice Sculptures «Magic Ice of Siberia» will be taking place on the left bank of the Yenisey river.

The festival-competition consists of two nominations, «Snow» and «Ice». Applications from teams, as well as draft designs are being accepted until November 22, 2019, provided it be sent to the following email addresses: krasled@mail.ru, pbgdk@mail.ru.

The winners among professional sculptors in each nomination will receive: 90 000 rubles for the first place, 60 000 rubles for the second and 30 000 rubles for the third as a reward.

Open Festival-Competition of Snow and Ice Sculptures «Magic Ice of Siberia» has been taking place in Krasnoyarsk since 2013. The first festival was dedicated to the 165th anniversary of V.I. Surikov and the 385th anniversary of the founding of the city of Krasnoyarsk. «Magic Ice of Siberia» is one of a kind in that it is the only one out of such specialised contests that includes nominations for working with both snow and ice. As a rule, other international projects only choose one of those – either snow or ice.

Over the years, artists from the USA, China, Latvia, Japan, as well as from Russian cities (Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kyzyl, Magadan, Barnaul, Perm, Prokopyevsk, Shelekhov, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and others) visited Krasnoyarsk as the participants of the contest. The teams from Krasnoyarsk take the most initiative, though.
