​The brand-new generation of British soloist performers will give a concert at the Krasnoyarsk Concert Hall. They will be accompanied by the Krasnoyarsk Symphony Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Lande.

Said musicians are the winners of various international competitions violinist Benjamin Baker and violist Timothy Ridout from the UK. The programme will include compositions by Benjamin Britten, Max Bruch and Sergei Prokofiev.

In 2013, Benjamin Baker won the first prize at the Windsor Festival International String Competition held in honour of Sir Yehudi Menuhin, famous American violinist. Benjamin's concerts take place at such venues as the Kennedy Center in Washington and London's Wigmore Hall, while in December, the violinist will also perform in the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonics.

Timothy Ridout is one of the most sought-after violists of his generation. At the age of 24, Timothy already soloed with Lille National Orchestra,  the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and also performed in the most prestigious halls of the world, including Wigmore Hall.

The concerts of the «British Musical Seasons» take place as part of the UK-Russia Year of Music. At one of the first concerts in Krasnoyarsk dedicated to the occasion, virtuoso pianist Nicholas McCarthy performed.
