​«Neo German Cinema» is a festival project courtesy of Novosibirsk Goethe Institute, organised with the support of the Consulate-General of Germany in Novosibirsk together with partners in the cities of Siberia and Far East for those who love European cinema, who study the language and/or just want to immerse themselves into the German culture itself. 

PROGRAMME:

November, 9. «Aus dem Nichts»

Katie’s ideal life turns to dust in an instant as her husband Nuri of a Kurdish descent and her 6-year-old son Rocco die as a result of a bomb explosion. Friends and family are trying to help Katie find the strength to live on, but obsessive thoughts about the causes and perpetrators of the senseless murder rub her emotional wounds the wrong way.

November, 16. «The Cleaners»

Young German documentary filmmakers Hans Blok and Moritz Risewick invite you to fly around the world with them so as to reflect on the possibilities and limitations of the World Web, revealing the secrets of the shadow digital economy in The Cleaners.

November, 24. «Patuvane kam Yerusalim»

Alice is a freelance editor and temporarily unemployed, as she herself claims. The employment bureau continues to send her to various employment trainings, but Alice already knows that they will not help her in any way. Coupons for gas, benefits and many tricks keep her afloat. But soon she begins feeling haunted realising her life is an endless struggle chasing windmills for a small portion of happiness and success or a packet of chocolate chip cookies.

November, 30. «Das fliegende Klassenzimmer»

Jonathan is only 12, but he has already switched several boarding schools. In Leipzig, he comes to study at the St. Thomas school, which houses the world-famous boys choir. The movie is an adaptation of the popular book of the same name by the German children's writer Erich Kastner.
