​The premiere of the unique play took place in «Dom Ofitserov» (the «Officer House» cultural centre) and was sold out completely. Performances shown by talented young actors were regarded by the audience as very emotional and sincere. In the end, the visitors gave the play team standing ovations, many cried.

This is the first theatrical production in Russia dedicated to the Krasnoyarsk «Alaska–Siberia» airway. The route operated during the World War II, providing supply of American aircraft to the front under the Lend-Lease Act. The «Mission ALSIB»’s plot is based on the «Air Convoy Pioneers» book by Grigory Kiselev depicting real events. The author had some personal contact with the A-20G Havoc’s pilot Pyotr Gamov, navigator Alexander Sorokin, and army interpreter Elena Makarova, who consequently became the main characters of the play.

Ivan Kunchchevsky posed as the director, while a famous aviation historian, member of the Russian Geographical Society Vyacheslav Filippov was the author of the idea and the main consultant.

«Mission ALSIB» by the Siberian Federal University Theatre of Historical Reconstruction «Artifact» is pretty much the one unique opportunity for everyone who wishes to learn more about a very special Lend-Lease Act which saved millions of human lives and brought the long-awaited Victory in the War years closer. According to the latest news, the production is planned to be shown in other cities and areas of Krasnoyarsk Region, too.
