The Russian Ministry of Construction Industry published the results of a study on the quality of the urban environment. The sample selected included a total of 1114 Russian cities. They were divided into 7 groups, depending on the number of residents. Krasnoyarsk, together with 14 other cities, fell into the group that united the largest cities.

In this group, Krasnoyarsk made it to the 6th place. In terms of the quality of the urban environment, Krasnoyarsk is recognised to be better than Novosibirsk, Omsk, Perm, Samara, Rostov-on-Don and many other major cities of the country. On top of the ranking are Moscow and St. Petersburg.

According to experts of the Ministry of Construction Industry, Krasnoyarsk has established to show good performance in housing and the surrounding area, street-road network, social and leisure infrastructure and the whole cityscape in general.
