The first point of the Mayor’s on-site inspection was a sports complex on Parkhomenko Street, 7. This year, at the expense of the city budget, a pool is renovated here. With the pool bowl already partially renovated, the modernization of the water treatment system is now in process. Filtering and pumping equipment are being changed. An ultraviolet lamp will also be installed to increase the effectiveness of disinfection. Modern equipment will significantly improve water quality, as well as reduce the cost of maintenance and operation of the pool.

Representative of the contracting organization Sergey Lozovsky explained: “We are installing four new filters. If one of them fails during operation, the pool will not need to be closed, as it used to be before.”

Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin ordered to complete all work on time so that by the beginning of the season the pool was ready to welcome visitors. The sport complex facilities are at a high demand in the district. Athletes train here, children’s swimming training groups are organized, and classes are held for students of several schools of the Leninsky District. Besides that, the pool is in demand among ordinary citizens.

Inspection continued at Akademika Pavlova Street, 44. Here, work is underway on the construction of a sports ground. There used to be a wasteland in its place. Now the contour of the structure is already visible, a gymnastic site and a weather shelter for playing table tennis are being constructed.

“We have waited for this sports ground for several years, and we are grateful to the Mayor that he put an end to this issue. Our yard has five houses, there are many children, and we, adults, will also be glad to use the new sports facilities. Construction workers are doing their job in a great way. They also take into account all our comments. At our own expense, we plan to add benches and waste bins, plant shrubs,” said Natalya Lukyanova, chairman of the house council at Akademika Pavlova Street, 44.

Besides the sites mentioned above, in the current construction season two courtyard sports fields are reconstructed, at Akademika Pavlova Street, 16 and Telmana Street, 9. All facilities are multifunctional: you can play soccer, basketball, and in winter - bandy and hockey. At each facility, safety coating, anti-vandal fencing and lighting are installed.

“Many people thought that after the Universiade is held there would be no more improvements to the city’s sports facilities. Of course, the Universiade gave us powerful modern complexes, but it is also important to pay attention to mass sports facilities within walking distance, to renovate the existing sports base that we historically have. While forming the city’s budget for next year we keep that in minfd,” Mayor Sergei Eremin said, summing up the results of the inspection on the right bank.

The Mayor also recalled that a landmark event in the development of sports infrastructure this year was the opening of the first water stadium in Krasnoyarsk and the construction of a hall for judo and Greco-Roman wrestling on the Otdykha Island.
