By tradition, every year the Festival “Russia Day. The Union on the Yenisei” is organized by one of the national communities. This year, the Uzbeks welcomed the guests.

In his speech at the opening of the festival, Alexander Uss noted that the festival gathered representatives of different nations, but they are all genuine Siberians: “We live in a huge multi-ethnic country, so it’s no coincidence that the Russia Day in Krasnoyarsk for the 14th time coincides with holding of another event - the Festival "The Union on the Yenisei." It is the multitude of peoples and cultures that is the source of development of our country and the fundament that binds people together. It is especially important for Siberia, because since ancient times it was inhabited by representatives of different nationalities. Today, the holiday is organized by our friends from the Uzbek community. I am sure that the warmth of their hearts, the wealth of their ancient culture will give to this holiday a real soulful atmosphere that will bring us even closer and will make us stronger”.

Celebrating the 391th birthday, we are proud of our traditions. One of them is this inter-ethnic festival, which gives the joy of communication. And we, Krasnoyarsk citizens, love it for opening the door to this summer for us! Have a great holiday, always keep together and cherish our strong friendship!”

About 20 national art groups and performers took part in the large-scale festive concert of the Union on the Yenisei Festival. Throughout the day the guests of the festival had a chance to enjoy open-air sites of various nationalities, the Dastarkhan interactive venue, the “Meet My Uzbekistan” large-scale ground, and thematic photo-zones.
