​​Wives' Carrying ​Championship participans filed the apllications to take part as early as May. On the day of the competitions you could see a lot of young couples – the competition promised to be a tough one. Most of the wives were tiny and slender, so as to make it easier for their husbands to run.

In total, 50 couples are allowed to participate every year. Conditions have also stayed the same: the couple must be officially married. Wives can be carried in any possible way, sit on their husban's shoulders, or be carried in their hands, but more often husbands prefer to hold them upside down on the back (it's easier that way). The main rule is that wives can not touch the ground. They can take off their shoes, but the husbands have to wear shoes. The main task is to pass all the tests as fast as possible.

  

The track is different every time. This time the contestants had to start with water pool , then go through a cobweb of ropes, and get over some logs and a metal bridge. 

The route ended with a mud pool. The competitions lasted about two hours. Each time two teams set off on the distance. 

Among the Krasnoyarsk couples there was a couple from Syria - Sami and Galia, as they introduced themselves. They both study in the Siberian Federal University: the head of the family is a graduate student of the department of transport and his wife is in the 3rd year of the department of construction.

- “Last year, we got to know about competitions only on the day of the event. We decided that we should participate in the championship. Did we train? A little bit. I do sports on an everyday basis. I am a member of the Titan water polo team,” - Sami says. - “The main thing is the spirit,” – supports him his wife. 

Sami said that they had been married for almost 4 years, in August they would celebrate their anniversary.

- “We studied at the same institute in Syria, met in 2012. I immediately fell in love with her, and it took me a year and a half to win her heart.”
