​On June 8, Tatyshev Island hosted one of the most exciting events of the City Day celebrations - the Festival of Impressions “Krasnoyarsk - the Soul and Energy of Siberia”

The official opening of the festival took place at 12 o'clock. Mayor of Krasnoyarsk  Sergei Eremin addressed the residents and guests of the city.

 

Krasnoyarsk residents and visitors of the city were offered more than 250 locations covering various interests - culture, youth, sports, family and children. Sports events, concerts, orchestra performances, exhibitions, master classes and shows, a lot of photo locations, creative and interactive venues, and even an outdoor cinema festival. 

Those who got hungry were greeted by dozens of cozy restaurants of the “Restoday” festival.

 

Venues are spread all over the island from its eastern part to the Cable Bridge.

Krasnoyarsk city championship in Drone Racing offered the guests of the festival a breathtaking view. The robotics venue attracted the youngest guests of the festival – there you could compete in robo-slalom. 

The western part of the Tatyshev Park hosted the Siberian Power Extreme Cup "Strongmen of the Yenisei". The competition was attended by athletes from Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo, Chita, Tomsk and other cities. You could also take part in a master class from the stars of the show “DANCES” of the TNT Channel. Everyone could test their own dance skills with the finalists of the 5th season of the show, Alexander Pertsev and Valeria Babayan.

At the central glade of Tatyshev Park, the guests of the festival took an active part in the activities offered by interactive venues: jenga, an entertaining quiz and quest, the launch of colorful kites, a workshop on sand painting, immersion in virtual reality, trampolines.

The area near the Cable Bridge offered competitions in surfing, jet skis, scooters and water bikes rides, competitions in rowing slalom, sports tourism and rafting.

The 2nd Krasnoyarsk festival of northern (Scandinavian) walking took place on the eastern side of the island. Participants covered the distance of 3660 meters. For the first time, the festival included northern walking competitions for amateur athletes. The eastern part of the island also hosted the Wives’ Carring Championship, which this year had even a couple from Syria competing in it. Within the competitions husbands must go through an obstacle course consisting of various challenges while carrying their wives.

The evening program of the festival offered the FMX 13 motor freestyle show with elements of fire shows.

The western side of the island had a rich cultural program. The stage by the Cable Bridge hosted a big concert. The best artistic groups of the city danced and sang for the audience, the performance of the Krasnoyarsk Brass Band took place at 19.00, and at the very end of the evening their music offered the headliner - the Rockfellers rock group. The roof of the Visitors’ Center was turned into the “Synthesis of Music and Theater” playground, with performances of children's and puppet theaters. It was also a place of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra’s performance.

For the young residents of the city, the Kids Playground was working - a huge playing space with various games, interesting interactive activities and dancing. At the “City Art Plein Air” all Krasnoyarsk citizens could try and become an artist. The venue offered by the children's libraries of the city this year is dedicated to the 220th Anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, and the venue provided by adult libraries presented the project “The loop of time”. There was a real open-air cinema organized by the “House of Cinema” and later in the evening - film screenings as part of the “Street Cinema Festival”.

A big rock concert took place on the eastern part of the island starting at 19.00, featuring such groups as Ozonic Layer, 9th-District, IrishCream, Nice Guys, Galia, Second Wind.

At 20:00, a tightrope walker, Maxim Kagin, the champion of Russia in rope walking, walked the rope stretched between the Cable Bridge supports. Even the rain didn’t stop him! The distance was155 meters. 

At 22.45 the skies of Krasnoyarsk were decorated with colorful fireworks - a gift from the Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk Khazret Sovmen!
