The solemn ceremony of raising the flag of Krasnoyarsk was held in honor of the 391st anniversary of the founding of the city. This tradition has a fourteen-year old history. Raising the flag together with a midday cannon shot takes place at Krasnoyarsk's landmark place – Karaulnaya Mountain, a symbol of Krasnoyarsk. This is where the history of our city began.

The event was attended by Mayor Sergei Eremin, Chairman of the Krasnoyarsk City Council Natalia Firyulina, heads of district administrations of the city, Honorary Citizens of Krasnoyarsk Anatoly Samkov and Mikhail Benyumov, laureates of the prize of the city "Young Talents 2019" Vladimir Nazarov and Daria Manza, representatives of Yenisei military Cossack society.

As part of the ceremony, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin congratulated Krasnoyarsk residents on the City Day.

It is our 391st birthday today! In this epoch of modernity, our Krasnoyarsk is breaking all stereotypes, the city is getting younger every year. This is thanks to the people, who make our city better and more beautiful. Krasnoyarsk, as a family jewel-box, gets from each generation of its citizens their most precious gifts. For us, Krasnoyarsk is not some urban environment, it is our family home, and we are all members of a large family. I sincerely wish our beloved city prosperity, and our family - health and confidence in the future! Happy Birthday, Krasnoyarsk!

For the first time the flag of the city was raised at the foot of the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Chapel in 2005 - in honor of those who founded our city, built and developed it.

A series of celebrations dedicated to the City Day are taking place this year - from 1 to 12 June. 

The main venue of the City Day festivities is the Tatyshev Island. Tomorrow, on the 8^th of June, starting at 12:00, it will host a grand Festival of Impressions "Krasnoyarsk - the Soul and Energyof Siberia". And at 22:45 the townspeople will see festive fireworks - a gift to Krasnoyarsk from the Honorary Citizen of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Region, patron of arts Khazret Sovmen.​
