The festive Ceremony of passing the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame Torch was held in Novosibirsk State Technical University.

Anatoly Bataev, Rector of NSTU, said that the University had become the starting platform for the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame. He also noted the volunteer's impact to the Winter Universiade Flame welcoming not only in the university, but on the whole Flame route.

"I would like to thank all students and colleagues who greeted and escorted the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame. The fact that we took part in the Universiade Flame had a positive impact on the image of our university," Anatoly Bataev added. "I would also like to congratulate all the organizers on the successful Winter Universiade 2019 organization. The infrastructure created in Krasnoyarsk will serve for years and help to develop sport in the city, region and throughout the country.

During the Torch Passing Ceremony, Stella Alekseeva, Deputy Director General of ANO "Directorate Krasnoyarsk 2019", noted: "The cities that took park in the Universiade Flame deserve to keep the Torch in memory of the Games. Thank you for becoming a part of the University sport history with us, thank you for your help in organizing this ceremony and carrying the Universiade Flame."

The Universiade Flame went through Novosibirsk on December 11, 2018. The Universiade Flame bearers started near Novosibirsk State Technical University, passed through the city's central streets on both left and right banks of the Ob River and finished at Alexander Gennadyevich Pimenov Square. The total route length was 2600 m. In total, 20 Flame bearers took park in the Universiade Flame Relay, including: Summer Universiade 2015 winner in athletics Igor Maksimov, bronze prize winner of the Olympics in snowboarding, Winter Universiade 2019 Ambassador Alena Zavarzina, repeat winner and All-Russia Cross-Country Skiing Competitions medalist Dmitry Salnikov, Chairman of the Siberian Bank of Sberbank PJSC Tatiana Galkina, Head of the Group of Sales Representatives for Coca-Cola HBC Russia in Novosibirsk Denis Mikhrenin, and Director of the FORWARD Representative Office in Novosibirsk Larisa Moleganova.
